The word “Halaqa” is an Arabic word that literally means a ring or a circle. The more denotive meaning of the word relates to “Knowledge Circles”. Hence, a halaqa is an Islamic gathering or meeting for the primary purpose of learning about Islam.
The MAC Youth Halaqa is a six-month program designed for university-age Muslims in Ottawa who would like to:
- Devote a designated weekly time for the sake of Allah
- Learn more about our religion as a way of life
- Interact with bright brothers and sisters who share the same eagerness to develop their Islamic identity
The halaqa is open to both brother and sisters and generally targeted towards university or college students. It involves weekly meetings of about 2-3 hours and aims to introduce participants to the Usrah tarbiya process and produce well rounded Muslims who are willing and prepared to server the Muslim community.
Location:
The halaqa will be held at Carleton University, insha’Allah.
